Videosync encompasses number of different tools both for the producer and the audience. This article gives an overview of the tools available.
When developing new features and improvements in the Videosync platform, the different roles of the users are very much in spotlight. Let's take a closer look at the various roles and the tools available to facilitate a seamless experience in producing events, streams, and video content.
Admin
Admin would be a role for a person who is creating new events, managing the content portfolio and managing the access rights of other people in the organization to access and modify the content. Typically there is one or two main admins in an organization, with rights to manage admin users. The number of regular admins with right to view, create and edit content can range from a few to tens of users.
The admin manages the content portfolio and individual events and videos at https://videosync.fi/admin by logging in with username and password, or alternatively with a Microsoft login (MS-login requires allowing Videosync application in Microsoft instance).
Livestream manager
Person who is handling the technical management of a livestream in a professional studio or event location production. In the Videosync Live Control Room, livestream manager can preview and control the broadcast visibility to audience, monitor incoming bitrate, monitor status of potential restream targets, view and moderate chat comments and control the polls visibility to the audience, as well as index the broadcast during the live session.
DIY producer
DIY producer is what we call a person who is doing a live event or a recording without any external encoding tools, with their own browser. For the DIY producer we've built a Web studio interface that can be used for producing, monitoring and administering the production. In the Web studio, the user can record audio, video and screen share content, start and stop livestream, control chat and polls, activate presentation slides synchronized with the video, as well as manage participants and activate audience from que to present their comments with video and/or audio.
DIY presenter
In the livestreamed or recorded webinars produced by DIY producer, DIY presenters are people that are presenting content with video and/or audio. DIY presenters have similar interface as DIY producer, but with limited control of the webinar visibility to the audience.
Moderator
Moderator is a person who's role is to moderate, engage and guide audience in the chat of a live event. Moderator can be a person in the production location or act remotely. For the moderator, Videosync offers a separate view that can be accessed with a tokenized link without signing in to the admin. In this view, moderator can publish and discard comments and move comments for the presenters. Furthermore, moderator can use this tool to launch polls as well as view and publish poll results for the audience.
Organizing stakeholder
Organizing stakeholder in this context refers to a person who is interested in the performance of an event or video. Typically this would be someone from the communications team who is measuring the performance, or if the event is including also external stakeholders, it could be a third party such as a affiliate presenter. The analytics dashboard view is provided for this role specifically, and it can be accessed from the Videosync admin console, alternatively from a event specific URL / password combination.
IT
As the audience network conditions tend to vary, there might occasionally arise comments of poor quality etc. And typically, especially in internal events, the IT department is the one who gets the responsibility of resolving and analyzing the issues. For IT, Videosync offers detailed quality metrics enabling issue analysis up to a single client level. Note that this dashboard is not included in all Videosync plans. Please contact our support if you are interested in setting this up for your account.
Audience
Videosync is built to engage audiences with attractive, intuitive attendance interfaces that can be fully built according to client's look and feel. These interfaces are event websites in which different content and engagement modules can be activated and modified from the Videosync admin interface. Once a event website is customized, the look and feel can be applied to a new event by duplicating the event with one click - so creating new events is a very quick process. The audience URL can include also a registration module, so no separate registration page is needed. Same applies for the recording - the URL stays for a specific content stays the same through the different lifecycle stages of an event.
Event or video can also be published embedded in an existing site. Videosync offers a versatile and scalable embed player.
Finally, for the event onsite visitors, one can customize and activate an onsite app from the Videosync admin. The onsite app is typically accessed with mobile phone by a QR-code created in Videosync admin or a short URL. In this module, onsite attendants can participate in the chat and polls while attending physically in the audience.
Returning audience
For active audience interested in the content that you are providing them with, Videosync offers a dynamically updating content archive view. Videosync admin allows setting up unlimited number of categories and subcategories. A separate archive view is available for all categories, displaying all the content and subcategories in that specific category.
